Another Buddha next to the Xieng Thong wat	The back part of Xieng Thong	Trees are burned all throughout the mountains by people looking to clear land for planting rice or teak trees. The government has tried unsuccessfully to stop this practice. The air here is very hazy during this dry season because of all the fires.	Our guide, Nit, showing us mint that has been harvested and is ready for these villagers to take to market. Each small bundle of mint is tied by hand, and the mint she's holding will sell for $.10
This lady is getting ready to take her basket of freshly-picked herbs to market		The small village of Banxath that we visited today. This is a farming community of 250 families. There are no telephones or running water, but satellite dishes are everywhere!	Many of the homes have their own gardens (and satellite dishes)
