Ready for our 7:00AM train (the Cusco to Machu Picchu express) this morning to kilometer 104 on the Inca Trail.	These pictures were taken from the front of our train on our ride from Ollantaytambo to the start of our hike along the Inca Trail. The start of today's hike.	Crossing the Urubamba River at the start of our hike		There are strict controls in place for access to the Inca Trail. Here we are presenting our passports at the first control checkpoint.
These ruins are called Chachabamba, and are part of a small Inca religious center. They appeared near the beginning of our hike.	Our first view of Machu Picchu! It's a small bump on the top of the mountain in the background.	This gives a better view of Machu Picchu. It's the rectangular shape at the top of this mountain.	The early part of the hike was hot and dry as we made our way up toward the cloud forest.
